5 weeks, 3 days

Ultrasound today showed a gestational sack(with yolk), nicely placed in the uterus. No fetal pole and no heartbeat, but I expected as much at 5 weeks. The sack measured 5 weeks so a little behind but as my doctor said "we are measuring something that is 1 centimeter, the placement of the ultrasound markers at this point can make the difference of a couple days"

I looked up the post of my first ultrasound with Boo. It was the same thing. No fetal pole, no heartbeat at 5 weeks, 1 day.

I go back in 2 weeks to check for heartbeat.

How exciting! And yes, after 6(!) pregnancies I know you never see more than a sac that early.

I am so happy for you!

So far so good! And that early on really does make a big difference when it comes to measurements. Daniel was 4 days behind at my first measurable u/s at 7 weeks. Then at my 10 week he was 2 days ahead with a different machine and tech.

Yeah, a day or two can mean a lot at this point. Plus the machine quality and whether or not you do transvaginal or abdominal US.

Still too early to see the heartbeat but there is a sac so crossing my bits for you anyhow :)
