Still on the Fence

Maya - the name of the book is "Getting Pregnant -What you need to know right now", it is written by Niels H. Lauersen & Colette Boucheq and published by Simon & Schuster. Chapter 16 goes through all the initial testing a doctor should do and chapter 17 goes through fertility surgeries. I found it very helpful. I will admit that I tend to "trust" my doctors so although I have gotten her to explain things to me along the way - this is the first time I have done independent reasearch and may have been behind the ball in terms of information compared to you girls.

I am still on the fence about my next steps. Rick has weighed in and said that I should make the final call because it is my body, but that he thinks we should try two natural cycles and "use up" our embryo's before going through all of the testing and drugs again. Because they are natural cycles - no medication aside from progesterone and metformin - I could do them back to back and still go to a new clinic in August.

I am leaning towards "using up" the embies before I switch, the only problem is that I have decided to do the biopsy before putting any more embies in, and the thought of having to do the biopsy twice is not so appealing. Anyone done the biopsy and could tell me it is not so bad?

Thanks for sharing. What a wonderful answer from hubbie. A guy who gets it...you are a very lucky woman. It sounds like you have lots of decisions to make. Know that we'll be here to support through whatever.

I have never had a biopsy, but I hope that it isn't that bad for you. I think that using up the embies is a good idea... I hope the day of the transfers you get a really good doctor.. maybe since you have complained to them they will know ahead of time how important it is to you. Hope you have a great weekend!
