So today marks 9 weeks! I want to add "if everything is still ok in there". I have no reason to believe it isn't. No further spotting. Although the morning sickness is not there all the time it is around often enough to let me know that it has not left. Yesterday, for example, I spent most of the day in bed, even to the point of canceling my appointments.
I do have some things that are happening to my body different than before. Here is a list:
1. Despite the fact that chicken used to be my #1 favorite food, I cannot stomach the thought of smelling it cooking, or even eating it if I am out. I don't know why but it has been persistent, I have not cooked chicken or eaten chicken (except at Subway) since I got pregnant. I used to eat chicken approx 3 times a week!
2. My hair is growing very, very quickly. I am able to put my hair in a pony tail without it falling out. I could not do that 2 weeks ago. I have to shave under my arms every day, and wearing a bathing suit requires much preparation.
3. I have not gained a pound but I have gained many inches.. 3/4 to be exact. There are only 2 pairs of pants that fit me without causing gastro distress and even most of my underwear now leave ugly red marks on my stomach and hips. After my next ultrasound, if everything is ok I will have to break down and buy maternity pants, despite the fact that I will only be half way through my third month!
4. I like my new belly! Love it, in fact. It isn't shaped like a pregnant belly yet, has two distinct rolls, but it is hard underneath, and it represents to me that if we can get through this next couple of months, our lives will be different, in a fantastic way.
I have an ultrasound on Monday and I am really, really looking forward to that.
Also, my parents come today. They are staying for 2 1/2 weeks. They don't know about my blog, nor do I want them to know so while I will post while they are here, my posting may be erratic. I will find a way though to let you all know how the ultrasound goes on Monday!
Thanks for being such terrific friends and such a great support.

Your hair comment-- I can so relate to! I am not a very hairy person-- but during pregnancy I had to shave under my arms daily and my legs at least every 3 days. Since having the baby...it's been 2 weeks since I shaved either and you can't even tell!!!!
You sound like a pregnant person to me! Oh, how I remember that initial hard belly before you start to show...gah, I miss being pregnant! Can't wait to hear how Monday goes, enjoy your parents' visit.
wow, krista -- this is all good news. glad the spotting seems to be nothing to worry about. good luck monday -- check in when you can!
I can't believe you are 9 weeks already! These little ones will be here before you know it!
It all sounds good!
Have fun with your parents. But if you don't let us know how the u/s goes, things may get ugly around here.
xo
I am so glad that things are going well! Thanks for continueing to post. I love seeing your post. And thanks for the warning about the next 2 1/2 weeks.
I hope that the u/s goes great, and so does the visit. You will be in my thoughts.
Yay!
What a great update!
Krista - Sounds great. I love that you love your pregnant belly. ...looking forward to it only growing. I am so glad that you took some time for yourself and cancelled your appointments. You are only almost 3 mo. pregnant with these little ones once. :)
You sound so terrific and happy Krista! It's so fantastic. I'm relieve to hear the spotting has subsided, and that the belly is growing. I love your observations, get yourself some undied that don't dig in!
Have a great ultrasound on Monday!
It's great to hear that everything is moving along in a non-eventful way...hooray!! Your comment about the chicken aversion struck a chord in me, since I had the same thing. I love turkey and chicken non-pregnant, but when I was pregnant I couldn't stand the stuff.
I'm looking forward to hearing your results on Monday...go babies go!
Congrats on 9 weeks! It sounds like everything is going great!
Krista,
